I dont often draw - I dont often draw - (you can see why) but i was explaining why you need to know where the muscles come from and attach to, to get a better stretch through your hips, rather then knowing just what they do.
In this case, hip flexors like the psoas and rectus femoris may well be stretched by doing hip extension..... but if you dont control your low back and pelvis position your hip extension may just be beating up your low back rather than stretching the hip flexors.
This is especially the case with people with a history of low back pain that often have really poor awareness and control of their low back/pelvis positioning. I show you how to avoid back pain and reduce hip pain by doing this stretch correctly.
