Hydration. Why is it so important.

Our bodies need water, every cell, organ and tissue needs water to function.

 

The amount will vary depending on each persons build and how you use your body and the environment. 

 

How can you tell your hydration

 

See below urine colour chart. 

 

 

 

If you are have trouble staying hydrated here are some tips

 

Keep a bottle handy, if you have it close you are more likely to drink it.

 

If taste is your issue, lemon slices are great for added flavour.

 

If you exercise drink before, during and after.

 

Feeling hungry? You may just be thirsty.

 

Working in an office, on the hour hop up stretch and walk to tea room for water or if you are client based drink after each client.

 

Eating out at Christmas time and are just having “drinks” , dont forget to have water on the table.

 

How can you tell if you are dehydrated?

 

Little or no urine.

 

Urine that is darker than usual.

 

Dry mouth.

 

Sleepiness or fatigue.

 

Extreme thirst.

 

Headache.

 

Confusion.

 

Dizziness or lightheadedness.

 

No tears when crying.
